This one comes from my dad. My mom and dad had a lot of cookouts at their house. I thought he had lost it the first time I saw him putting plastic storage bags filled with tap water on the food table in the garage as well as hanging them from the doorway. "What are you doing???" "They keep the flies away" he said. This method has it doubters but it has always worked for us. So if you stop by for a cookout and see bags of water think nothing of it. He is just keeping the food safe from those pesky flies.

Shoo fly don't bother me

I heard that if you put pennies in them they work better that way we have thought about trying it for the barn in the summer because we have a horse and trust me he attracts flies for sure.
